At this time, we do not offer the ability to run a gross up calculation within Homebase payroll.
You can use this calculator to determine the gross pay amount needed if you have the withholding elections for that employee.
- State & Date Section:
- State - Click on Select a state and select the state in which the taxes are being calculated, usually this is the work state.
- Check Date - Use a payday in 2022, as using any day in 2023 will impact the calculation of the taxes.
- Earnings Section
- Net Pay - Enter the net amount you want to pay.
- Gross Pay YTD - Keep this blank
- Pay Frequency - Enter the pay frequency you are paying your employees for 2022.
- Federal Taxes Section
- Federal Supplemental Flat - Leave unchecked.
- Use 2020 W4 - confirm your company is using the W4 2020. If you are not, ensure this option is not selected.
- Withholding Information - Fill in the information based on the employee elections.
- State Taxes Section (if applicable)
- Withholding Information - Fill in the information based on the employee elections.
- Voluntary Deductions (optional) - SKIP THIS.

Otherwise, feel free to send over the employee’s name and net amount and we can assist with the calculation. Email the Payroll Support team payroll@joinhomebase.com and we can complete this on your behalf.
