Homebase's integration with Gusto streamlines your payroll process by enabling the automatic export of timesheets, saving you valuable time. With this seamless connection, labor hours tracked in Homebase can be directly pushed into your Gusto account, simplifying payroll preparation. This feature is a valuable tool for small business owners looking to optimize their payroll management.

Connect your accounts

  1. Sign in to your Homebase account OR sign up for a Homebase account.
  2. Select the Settings tab in the left menu
  3. Select Payroll from the navigation bar on the left.
  4. Click Connect next to Gusto.
  5. You will be redirected to your Gusto account to finish setup.
  6. If you have multiple locations:
    •  Make sure to match the Gusto address with the location address in each location. Each location will need to be connected individually in settings.

 

Import your employees from Gusto:

  1. Sign in to your Homebase account OR sign up for a Homebase account.
  2. Select the Team tab in the left menu
  3. Select Add in the upper right corner.
  4. Select Import from Gusto.
  5. Newly synced employees with emails will automatically get an invitation to join Homebase.
    * In the event that your employee list already exists in Homebase, having the correct employee information is critical to avoiding duplication. Homebase does not import inactive employees from Gusto.

 

 

Export timesheets

  1. Sign in to your Homebase account.
  2. Select the Timesheets tab in the left menu
  3. Set the date range in the upper left to the desired beginning and ending dates for the information you would like to export.
  4. Click Download in the upper right corner of the page.
  5. Select Payroll Summary for Gusto.
  6. Select Download Formatted for Gusto on the bottom right.
  7. Your Timesheets will now appear within the Run Payroll tab of your Gusto account.

 

FAQs

Q: Do my hours export automatically from Homebase to Gusto?

A:  No, in order for your hours to export from Homebase into Gusto, you will need to click Export in the top right of your timesheets. Click here to learn more about downloading or exporting timesheets

 

Q: Can I integrate multiple Homebase locations with a single Gusto account?

A: While Gusto currently doesn't support integration with multiple Homebase locations, you can easily track hours worked at different locations on Homebase's Company Level Timesheets page and then manually input the data into Gusto. This way, you can still efficiently manage payroll for employees working at multiple locations.

 

Q: Can I re-export Timesheets from Homebase to Gusto after making amendments?

A: Yes, you can export multiple times; each new export will override the previous one, allowing you to correct mistakes or add late Timecards.

 

Q: Why didn't my employees' information export to Gusto?

A: Check for existing payroll IDs from other providers in employee profiles. Update info under the Team tab by selecting the employee, going to Locations & PINs, updating the payroll ID, and saving changes.

 

Q: Does Homebase support exporting contractors' hours?

A: Not at this time.


 

Q: Can timesheet hours be exported to Gusto even if some employees in Homebase do not have any hours?

A: Yes. Our export will simply skip over these employees.



 

Q: What if I update or change my business address in my Gusto account?

A: Update your address in Gusto, then disconnect and reconnect the Homebase integration to ensure changes are reflected.
