The Homebase and Vend integration allows you to unlock powerful labor cost management tools and reports to give you greater insights into your business. 

Homebase will sync the following from your Vend POS:

  • Net Sales
  • Employees
  • Locations

Note: Only the owner of the Homebase account has access to the POS Connection, you also must be on the Vend Pro or Enterprise plan to initiate the integration.

Connecting your Account to Vend through Homebase

  • If you don't have a Homebase account yet
    1. A link will be provided by your Vend representative to start your account.
    2. If no link was provided, go to joinhomebase.com and select Get Started in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. Continue through the sign-up flow and answer the questions to create the account (takes about 5 minutes).
    3. Once in the account, select the Settings tab on the left menu.
    4. Select POS Connection on the left navigation bar.
    5. Click Connect on the Vend tile and you will be redirected to Vend to continue integration.
      • If you already have a Vend account: You will be prompted to enter your password and sync the accounts
      • If you are a new Vend customer: You will be redirected to the Vend onboarding page.
    6. You will then be directed to authorize the connection and match the Vend location with your Homebase location. 
      • Note: If you have multiple locations, you will need to repeat steps 3-6 for each location. If the location(s) already exists in Homebase, be sure to select which location you are connecting in the upper right-hand corner of the screen before continuing. 
    7. Once this is complete, you will be redirected to your Homebase account, where you will see a pop up stating the accounts are connected. 
    8. Next, you will want to sync your employees from Vend to Homebase, please see the instructions for syncing employees for further instructions.
  • If you already have a Homebase account
    1. Sign in to your Homebase account.
    2. Select the Settings tab on the left menu.
    3. Select POS Connection from the navigation bar on the left.
    4. Click Connect on the Vend tile and you will be redirected to Vend to continue integration.
      • If you already have a Vend account: You will be prompted to enter your password and sync the accounts
      • If you are a new Vend customer: You will be redirected to the onboarding page
    5. You will then be directed to authorize the connection and match the Vend location with your Homebase location. 
      • Note: If you have multiple locations, you will need to repeat steps 2-5 for each location. If the location(s) already exists in Homebase, be sure to select which location you are connecting in the upper right-hand corner of the screen before continuing. 
    6. Once this complete, you will be redirected to your Homebase account, where you will see a pop up stating the accounts are connected. 

Connecting your Account to Homebase through Vend

  • If you don't have a Homebase account yet
    1. Click on the Homebase tile on the Vend Add-on page.
    2. You will be redirected to the Homebase onboarding page, continue through the sign-up flow and answer the questions to create the account (takes about 5 minutes).
    3. Once the account is completed, select the Settings tab on the left menu.
    4. Select POS Connection from the navigation bar on the left.
    5. Click Connect on the Vend tile and you will be redirected to Vend to continue integration.
    6. You will be redirected back to Vend where you will log back in.
    7. You will then be directed to authorize the connection and match the Vend location with your Homebase location. 
      • Note: If you have multiple locations, you will need to repeat steps 4-7 for each location. If the location(s) already exists in Homebase, be sure to select which location you are connecting in the upper right-hand corner of the screen before continuing. 
    8. Once this complete, you will be redirected to your Homebase account, where you will see a pop up stating the accounts are connected. 
    9. Next, you will want to sync your employees from Vend to Homebase, please see the instructions for syncing employees for further instructions.
  • If you already have a Homebase account
    1. Click on the Homebase tile on the Vend Add-on page. 
    2. You will be redirected to your Homebase account.
      • If you are not logged in, you will need to enter your password to continue.
    3. Once you are in the account, select the Settings tab on the left menu.
    4. Select POS Connection from the navigation bar on the left.
    5. Click Connect on the Vend tile and you will be redirected to Vend to continue integration.
    6. You will be redirected back to vend where you will be log back in.
    7. You will then click connect to approve the connection and match the Vend location with your Homebase location. 
      • Note: If you have multiple locations, you will need to repeat steps 4-7 for each location. If the location(s) already exists in Homebase, be sure to select which location you are connecting in the upper right-hand corner of the screen before continuing. 
    8. Once this is complete, you will be redirected to your Homebase account, where you will see a pop up stating the accounts are connected. 

Syncing your Employees and Sales

  • Adding Employees to your Homebase Account
    1. To sync and or add employees, select the Team tab on the left menu.
    2. In the top right-hand corner, select Add Team and select the option to Import from POS.
      • Note: If you already have a team in Homebase you will still want to import the employees from Vend to match their profiles, the name of the employee in Vend must be exactly the same in Homebase to avoid duplicates.
    3. All employees in Vend will be pulled into Homebase along with their email and phone number.
    4. Your team will automatically be sent an invite to join Homebase. If they do not have contact information (phone number or email) you will need to add at least one to send them an invite.
    5. Moving forward, you will always add employees to Vend and import to Homebase. Vend will not import employees if you add them from Homebase.
  • Syncing Sales and utilizing Labor Reporting
    1. Once your Vend and Homebase account are synced you will automatically start to see your Vend sales show up in your Homebase account. 
    2. You can utilize the Reports tab on the purple navigation bar to compare your sales to your projected and actual labor.
      • Note: Report access will vary depending on the Homebase plan you have selected. 
    3. When viewing the schedule, you will see projected sales for labor forecasting on the bottom of the page.
      • Homebase will take the last 2 weeks of sales to make these projections, you will be able to modify these as you see fit.

FAQ 

Do all Vend users have to be in Homebase? 
Homebase allows you to schedule and track time for your team. If you have employees who are scheduled or who use a time clock, add them to Homebase. 

Do all Homebase users have to be in Vend? 
No, you can have team members in Homebase who are not in Vend. However, if they use the POS, they should be in both places. 

Do I need to add my employees to both Vend and Homebase?
No, in fact, we suggest you only add employees to Vend and import to Homebase to save time and avoid duplicate profiles.

Do I have to be on a paid plan with Homebase to integrate with Vend? 
No, all integrations with Homebase are available on our free, Basic plan.
