- Register for an account ID number
- Go to the North Carolina Department of Revenue online
- Click on drop down arrow for Tax & Forms
- Click on Business Registration
- Click on Withholding
- Click next and enter business details
- You should receive your NC account ID instantly

Update your Homebase account with your NC account ID. Your account ID is required for all North Carolina Department of Revenue interactions to ensure your account is accurate.

- Setup username and password
- Go to the North Carolina eBusiness Center
- Click Log in
- Click Register under the NCID log in page
- Select Business
- Create a username and password
- NCID will email you a code which you will need to enter to complete sign up

Registration Steps:
- Register for North Carolina unemployment employer account number
- Go to the North Carolina Department of Commerce website
- Under Employers drop down arrow, click “Create or update an employer account”
- Under Employer Tax Account Number, click on here link
- Complete application
- You will receive Employer Account Number and tax rate instantly
Update your Homebase account with your NC Employer Account Number. Your EAN is required for all North Carolina Unemployment Insurance interactions to ensure your account is accurate.

- Setup a username and password
- Go to the North Carolina Department of Commerce website
- Select “Click here” Under Steps to Create an Online Account
- Select ‘I am a Business/Remitter/Third Party user.’
- Enter your seven-digit Employer Tax Account Number (EAN) two times.
- Enter the six-digit PIN for your EAN.
- Create your Sign In credentials (User Name and Password).
- Enter a valid email address. You will need to access this email to activate your account.
- Check your email for instructions on how to activate your account.
- Click on the link in the email and use the User Name and Password you created in Step 5 to sign into your account.
